Recreation and Leisure Zone on the Dunajec River, Łącko

Sport, recreation, relaxation. You will find all of this in one place by the Dunajec River in Łącko.

Sports and Recreation Complex by the Dunajec

The Recreation and Leisure Zone in Łącko is a public complex located by the Dunajec, between the Czarna Woda and Lichnia streams, about 900 metres from the market square in Łącko. Before 2018, this area was neglected and unused. Thanks to EU projects, it was revitalised. Paths, sports facilities, and recreational infrastructure were created.

Attractions in the Recreation and Leisure Zone in Łącko

The zone features cycling and walking paths, an outdoor gym, a playground for small children, a tennis court with artificial surface, a football pitch with natural grass, two beach volleyball courts, a pumptrack, and a skatepark.

Older children can use the climbing zone with a rope structure 5.5 metres high. There is also a 30-metre zipline, ladders, a hanging bridge, and a climbing net.

There is also a modern skatepark and a pumptrack track. In the recreational zone, among the trees, there are four covered shelters with brick grills, as well as an artificial pond. The Recreation and Leisure Zone in Łącko is illuminated and open 24 hours a day. Use of all equipment and facilities is free of charge.

Along the edge of the zone, by the Dunajec, runs a section of the VeloDunajec route, one of the main and most beautiful cycling routes in southern Poland.

Chapel

In the northern part of the park, next to the pond, there is a stone chapel built on the initiative of about forty children from Łącko. The building materials (stones) were collected for several months, some brought from various regions of Poland. Construction was completed in 1995, and on 13 September 1999, the chapel was solemnly consecrated.

How to reach the park

From the centre of Łącko, an avenue runs along the Czarna Woda stream to the Zone. It can be reached in 15 minutes on foot or by bike. The last 500-metre section of the road is reserved exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists.   The Recreation Zone can also be reached by car, to the designated car park located right next to the Skatepark.

The Park by the Dunajec is not only infrastructure – it is an example of how well-planned space can serve residents and attract tourists, while retaining its natural charm.
